Golf on Galveston Island
The City of Galveston and Moody Gardens, Inc. signed and executed an agreement officially turning over the management of the Municipal Golf Course on Friday, February 2, 2007. As noted in the agreement, the course will be significantly enhanced, with $14 million in capital improvements planned. With construction to start this winter and last up to 18 months, regular play won't be possible in the foreseeable future. In the meantime, the city anticipates re-opening the Island Driving Range in spring 2007.
